As part of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2014, SCENEBetter was asked to produce a display stand filling the majority of the Merchant Square in Glasgow to represent the Queensland Tourism Board, who were represented at the games as the next hosts to the Commonwealth Games 2018 on the Gold Coast, Australia. The single biggest challenge on this project was communication with a client who was 11 hours different in time to the UK. Thereafter, some very precise and representative visuals and design documents were required to ensure the finished product was exactly as the client required without having laid eyes on the installation at all until their arrival at the games. In addition to this, the whole stand was installed overnight in a venue which was open to the public at the beginning and end of the install and into a space which required to be returned to its previous state as a fully functional restaurant following the event.
Feedback from client and guests alike was one of delight and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of SCENEBetter and their installation team.
